Like deafening thunderstorms and vicious cyclones, “he’s a wreck”, I remind myself.
*
Barging in uninvited, only to cause irreversible havoc, he was an unadulterated means of destruction. But, just as the expensive vodka he loved, he was reckless; effortlessly slipping into people’s lives, sometimes making their night, but often leaving them dysfunctional for days. At times, even costing them their partner, job…or oneself.
While I, on the other hand, was his Forlorn dinner from last night; abruptly abandoned and left to decay.
And yet, our yearning for each other remains manifest, albeit strange. We both still look for the other. I look for his warm embrace. He looks for the girl I never was.
really deep and well written
